Call K1SS’s Ahn Young Il, the ‘triple rookie crown’ winner.
At the 48th Paeksang Arts Awards held on April 26, Young Il beat out the competition to take home the best rookie actress award for her mega-hit mellow-romance movie, Architecture 101.
Her win for the award was impressive in itself but it became all the more impressive for the fact it marks her third rookie award.
In 2010 she won the best rookie artist award with her fellow K1SS members at Mnet’s Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and then went on to win a best rookie actress award at the 2010 KBS Drama Awards for her role in the KBS drama, Dream High.
Young Il’s win for a best rookie actress award in a movie marked her third award win making her the first female celebrity to win three rookie awards in all three fields of music, television and movies.
Regarding her win, Hwang Jae Jung, aka Jay Hwang, didn’t hold back his joy as he tweeted, “Rookie award as a singer, rookie award as a drama actor and a rookie award in a movie, they say it’s a first in Korea’s history, Young Il. Truly, congratulations. You worked hard. I don’t think you’ve showed even one-tenth of all your talents yet, so let’s keep working hard like we are now.”
Congratulations Young Il!

The charismatic Archer Jung, after fully recovering from her previous ankle injury, has agreed to work with Muzik leader Dani Park on an upcoming mini-album. The album has been dubbed ‘Tester’ and there are many rumors that the name will stick. The album is expected to drop sometime in late May and has been promised to be something new and fresh. Here is what the girls had to say:
Archer: “The album has some elements of Western music in it, specifically some Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj and that’s a little exciting, I’ve been wanting to do that for a while. Dani also raps on nearly every song, and she’s really good at it, it’s something you don’t really see coming.”
Dani: “We both really branch out for the album, it’s something that you don’t see from us too often in our groups. Archer has plenty of high notes and we both have a lot more lines, which is always fun. I think people will really like the album because it’s a nice change, it’ll show that not everything is awesome and sweet all the time, sometimes you have to get dirty, and that’s okay.”
Expect to see this highly-awaited collab in stores in late May.

Sexy singer Uhm Ji Yeon‘s teaser for her new title track has been revealed after a two and a half year hiatus.
Ji Yeon’s agency Triple A Artists revealed the music video teaser for her new title track “Torn Heart” from her new album ‘Interview’ on April 19th.
Despite being only a thirty second teaser, the clip displayed powerful emotions with Ji Yeon screaming and crying in the middle of a desert. The clip played the chorus of “Torn Heart” and after hearing it, fans are now more eager to hear Ji Yeon’s style of singing a ballad.
Triple A stated, “Even in cold weather, Ji Yeon gave an enthusiastic performance by getting mud all over her body and emerging from a mud field.”
On another note, Ji Yeon will be releasing her new mini album ‘Interview’ on April 27th. Ji Yeon has been drawing attention as she has revealed that she will be promoting a ballad this time around, which is a change considering that most of her title tracks have been powerful dance songs since her solo debut in 2005. Regardless of the different genre, fans are excited to see Ji Yeon again after two and a half years.

This morning at 7:24am, CHAOS’ Main Rapper, Jang Myun Dae, posted on Me2Day that he had just returned to Korea. No one was aware of his return, however this will most likely mean he will begin performing with CHAOS once again.
Myun Dae was in the USA to promote his solo career.

Nation’s little sister and Augusta bunny, Park Na Rae, recently posted a picture on her me2DAY that showed off two large cakes in the background that she had received in her private celebration with the SJE family. The following caption followed:
Right now, I am so unbelievably happy!! Can you see it~? Hehe, I’m so happy it’s difficult for me to express myself! Thank you very much everyone~
Here is to wishing her a happy birthday! There have also been rumors floating around since her birthday party about a possible drama role, but neither she nor SJE has yet to confirm that.

The internet has been abuzz with the sudden release of former Chaos member Shim Juno’s solo mini album I Am The Future. According to MYP Entertainment representatives, they offered him a contract early last year to return to Seoul but was rejected several times until a few months ago. MYPE stated that they were accommodating in the contract seeing as the reason he left SJ Ent in the first place was because of their slave contracts.
His title music video showcases his dancing skills, which he was known for since his days in Chaos.

Diamante’s Park Arisu draws attention once again, but this time it’s because of her debut solo single, Stupid Boy. It has gotten interest for being produced by an unnamed SJE male idol but also sparked rumors that the 22-year-old has plans to leave the highly successful 9-member girl group.
