Following the success of Warrior Baek Song Soo and his recent switch over to Endeavor Creative, Eo Jae Seung has been busier that anything, but managed to make time for an exclusive interview and photoshoot with ‘High Cut.’ Below is just a mere taste of the full interview.
You were a child actor, right? What influenced your decision to get into the film industry?
I was a child actor, yes, but I mostly starred in commercials for clothing brands and snacks for children. My biggest influence for venturing away from commercials and into the acting scene was my uncle who doubled as my manager as well. He told me that I had a talent that needed awakening, and that acting was best way to awakne that talent. I went for an audition and the next thing I know I’m being told that I’ve got the part.
Five years you were active as a child actor before you seemingly disappeared off of the face of the Earth. What happened between then and now?
Mainly personal problems with a fellow actor. You see I was in the top three most sought after child actors and had a lot of people that wanted to see me fail. There was one actor that I treated like my own family, but when auditions for a movie that would launch the careers of all the actors and actresses starring in it came around, I was stabbed right in the back which lead me into a downward spiral out of the industry. After I stopped acting, I decided that I wanted to have some form of qualifications that I could put on a resume should I never act again. As a result of the decision to further my education I now have two bachelor’s degrees that I can fall back on should I ever want to leave acting.
Your comeback was with Triple A Artists. Why make the switch to Endeavor Creative?
Is that a trick question? Endeavor Creative’s influence in the film industry is far greater than that of Triple A Artists. Signing with Endeavor was probably the best decision I ever made. And I guess finding the person I like I love the most in the world influenced me somewhat. Yes! I said it, I found the love of my life.
Is the love of your life Shin Kyu Won?
Oh dear lord no. I mean I love her a lot as both a friend and band mate, but I could never lover her in that way. She’s more of a younger sister that I trust with all my secrets and someone I go to when I need help. I don’t think I’m going to mention the person’s name though, so next question please.
